A 30 minute drive over the Wainuiomata hill and down Coast road lands you in the stunning Wainui Coast. Another beautiful yet rugged and isolated part of Wellington's extensive coastlines. Starting at the carpark, the ride to the seal colony is only about 20 mins along a gravel path. Directions to the seal colony are signposted once you reach the fork in the trail. Continue around and you're onto the Wild Coast trail. Duration and length of the ride is to the riders discretion. A return trip to the end of the coast (Corner creek) will be around 32km. Trail conditions are shaped by the weather so expect to walk sections of the trail after a storm or severe weather.
