Get up close and personal with one of the turbines to experience how big they really are. Continue further along the track to an old war bunker with a beautiful picnic spot.

Instead of turning left up Opau road, continue down Makara road all the way to the beach. Parking is available. A coastal track starts to the left of the bay, signage is posted and the track is fairly obvious.
