Generally a pretty consistent break on a good swell, Lyall Bay features a good variety of peaks. "The Wall" next to the airport offering the best quality break. This spot gets super crowded on a good swell so if you're a beginner be sure to make full use of the entire beach. The waves should break across the entire beach on a decent swell meaning there's plenty of room for everyone. Optimum wave size around 3 to 6ft. Suitable for all levels of surfers. Best conditions : Southerly swells, northerly winds on all tides.
