Porirua is home to many great hiking areas and tracks. The main area being Colonial knob. This well built and maintained network of tracks has something for everyone. With numerous ways to reach the top, it is only a matter of choosing your preferred track up. Take the fire road up for a quick climb or meander through native bush in a network of tracks to reach the top. Beware of bikers as this is a shared area. Pay attention to signage as some tracks are bike access only. The top offers 360 degree views over Poriua and it's surroundings. Around 1-2 hours return depending on level of fitness.
