With many access and entry points, the walk to Butterfly creek can take as long or as little as you like. A recommended route would be to start at Days bay. Take the Kereru track (starts behind the duck pond to the right) to the ridge turning right at the top along the ridgeline and continuing to Butterfly creek. The walk to the ridge track is tough and steep. Pack a picnic and spend the afternoon enjoying it on one of the many tables in the Butterfly Creek area. Enjoy a well earned swim and visit to one of the many cafes before returning to your car. Refer to the map below to organize your preferred route.
